Update – September 2021

Yes Royston Lodge is open for bookings, within limits mandated by the Victorian Government due to COVID.

This means no visits to the regional areas from residents of Melbourne, and household limits apply.  Please refer to the DHHS website for the current information.

However we expect restrictions to ease for all Victorians around the 5th of November and welcome your enquiries.

Updated information about some recent issues:

Tree falling: Royston Lodge suffered some damage from a fallen tree on 19 July.  The damage has now been repaired and we are back to normal.  We’re also well stocked with firewood!

Wi-fi: Wi-fi is available again, but we are still making do with a 4G modem while the Telecommunication Ombudsman processes our complaint.  This works but the bandwidth varies, from excellent to poor.  Streaming services are a bit hit-and-miss, but we’ve been able to hold videoconferences.

TV:  we have acted on a complaint about the lack of free-to-air TV service at our house, and installed a new UHF antenna.  Unfortunately this is still not able to receive signals and we are working on a solution. The secluded Halls Gap valley does not have good line-of-sight to any TV towers and we have never had TV reception since we bought the property in 2014.  You can use the network’s streaming services (but see note above) and of course play anything from our extensive in-house video library.
